Nutrition education is an important part of your work.


It can be difficult to sort through the extensive amount of nutrition education resources available.  To assist you in your search, we have linked reliable, evidence-based sources below


No Kid Hungry

No Kid Hungry has a variety of educational resource materials and toolkits available. Below are links to various educational resources. Many resources are offered in English and Spanish.

MyPlate

Myplate has a wide variety of resources available. Resources include activity sheets, resources in Spanish, fact sheets, infographics, lesson plans, posters, and tip sheets. Resources are also available by age group of children.  

Get kids started on a healthy eating adventure utilizing games and activities. Teach them about using MyPlate and the five food groups to set them on a path towards a healthy future. This resources includes computer games and activity sheets.

Dairy MAX

Dairy MAX currently offer kits to help cafeterias promote healthy choices through dairy, help colleges and other culinary partners present food samples and more.

USDA

Team Nutrition is an initiative of the USDA Food and Nutrition Service to support the child nutrition programs through training and technical assistance for foodservice, nutrition education for children and their caregivers, and school and community support for healthy eating and physical activity.

Summer Food, Summer Moves is a fun, hands-on resource kit designed to get kids and families excited about healthy eating and physical activity during the summer months. The kit is designed for use by summer meal site operators and focuses on using music, games, art, and movement to motivate kids and families to choose more fruits and vegetables.

Houston Food Bank

The Houston Food Bank has created educational resources including nutrition fact sheets in English and Spanish. They also have resources to encourage kids to have a healthy relationship with food.
